Colorito is a racing game from the 19'th century.  The goal of the game is to move all your pieces to the corresponding space on the opposite side of the board.  The twist is that pieces can only rest on squares of the same color or neutral.  Pieces can move a single space to a suitably colored square, or a multiple jump that ends at the appropriate color, or a single step move followed by a multiple jump.

The official board size is 10x10, but the game also plays similarly on 8x8.   7x7 becomes a little cramped, and 6x6 is a very tight game.

Read the official rules for details.

Robots:  shaky.

The back story:
I was feeling retro and considering several "old" racing games, including Salta and Chinese checkers.  This looked more interesting.
