Actually, the robot for Yinsh is the simplest of the robots. The quality of
it's play is more a reflection of the intrinsic characteristics of the game,
which are particularly favorable for computer players. |

| It seems to me that "smartbot" does not look ahead more than one (or two?) moves concerning defense, though. Isn't it beaten easily by wall crawling? I don't really play wall crawl, but against my chameleon, the AI is clearly not defending well enough. |

You are correct. Generally speaking, the goal for the robots
is to be good enough to teach the game, and to be a plausible
opponent for beginners. As soon as that goal is reached I move
on to the next project.
Depending on the game, getting to "good enough" might be hard,
or in some cases I have to deliberately make them dumber. |
